Hypnosis and Homicide

Report prepared for the National Police Sciences Academy and United States Department of Education.

Aspects of the "Vampire Moon" case have given cause for concern that Vern may be a victim of a pathology termed Antisocial Hypnotic Inducement Syndrome (AHIS). The American Psychological Evaluation Corporation has been retained by the National Police Sciences Academy and the United States Department of Education to compile a study of this situation.

1. Hypnosis can produce criminals!
Using hypnosis for criminal acts has moved from legend and supposition to harsh reality. Studies have shown that hypnosis, improperly used, can and does lead people to commit criminal behavior.

You can be forced to kill!
Scientific studies of recent hypnotic advances, compiled and tested by a major university, reveal that a hypnotized person can now be forced to murder against their will.

You can by hypnotized without even knowing it!
We have observed a new, secret hypnotic technique that can induce a deeply suggestible state in almost any subject without the subject's consent or awareness. Even worse, we can attest that this technique is currently in use.

2. Don't look to science for protection!
Despite recent advances in psychiatry, medical science is at a loss to explain how hypnosis works and is as yet unable to devise a countermeasure against being victimized by AHIS.

Almost anybody can be victimized!
Drugs and electronic rhythm generators can induce hypnotic conditions in individuals who would not otherwise be affected. With these aids, almost anyone can be made an unwilling victim of criminal hypnosis.

Vern is case-book example.
The example of Vern and Doctor Zero reveal how effective hypnotic suggestion can be to a susceptible individual. This is true of all victims of AHIS.

Hypno-assassins can be anywhere!
Information on hypnosis is widespread and with the preponderance of this new hypnotic technique, we may expect a frightening increase in hypnosis-induced assassination as well as other heinous crimes.

We can stop this menace with fast action!
Laws must be passed against unauthorized hypnosis and AHIS-induced crime. Suspected victims must be tested and monitored. The Internet and other communication sources must be regulated to prevent dissemination of the technique.

Conclusion
As always, the mess made by scientists and politicians must be cleaned up by law enforcement.
