PRELIMINARY FORENSICS REPORT
Reconstructed skeleton
Reconstruction of the skeleton revealed the following information:
  1. Most of the bones were fragmented, scattered, or burned beyond recognition. Many were missing.
  2. The victim was determined to be male. Examination of the skull's sagital suture reveals that the victim was an adult, age unknown.
  3. A clean cut at the transverse process reveals that the victim's head was severed by a semi-sharpened instrument, possibly a shovel, before being burned. The right lateral epicondyle of the humerus and the left tibia were also severed, possibly by the same instrument.
  4. The bones of the victim's right hand revealed evidence of a gold ring. The metal was totally melted but left a molecular residue on the tissue. This indicates that robbery may not have been the motive for the crime.
  5. Thirty-one teeth were still intact, and these have been sent to a dental forensics specialist for evaluation.
