Aerial and surface teams were dispatched to search the target area within a ten-mile radius of the given rendezvous location, a grove of trees near Black Creek Bridge.
|
The search revealed the ashes of a large bonfire on the north bank of the Skagit River,
five point three miles from the rendezvous location.
Here we found one badly charred human skeleton,
apparently burned at least thirty hours prior.
|
After preliminary investigation of the site, the Skagit County coroner's office took jurisdiction
of the remains. Their report, with a photograph of the remains, is pending.
